Happy New Year to all. It’s a new year and a new semester. What are your plans for this year (and/or semester)? We have a fairly big network of people here, maybe someone can help you out.

Does your Art Seriously Suck? (acronym: A.S.S.)
Try this out on a stinky piece:

SUBTRACT
-Remove certain parts or elements
-Compress or make it smaller
-What can be reduced or disposed of?
-What rules can you break?
-How to simplify?
-How to abstract, stylize or abbreviate?

(part 1 of 23 of the Synectics Series)

Once I finish putting together my personal website and portfolio this month (or next month), I’m going to look for a new job. Preferably a place that:
-does web design and other print media
-funky place
-at least 20 people in the agency (I am currently working with 3 - Cabin Fever!)
-must have some people my age
-a place that will use my illustrations

Then in the fall (of 1999), I’m going to apply to graduate schools (to start in fall of 2000). I need to find a concentration. I just know I have a passion to teach (college and up). Any recommendations on schools?
