Hopefully we'll be able to meet up at these events.

.............
ABSOLUT VISION Chicago

The Chicago Art Dealers Association (CADA) will present its fifth annual ABSOLUT VISION Chicago, A Summer Celebration of Art, opening JULY 14 in River North and JULY 20 in West Loop Gate . .............
Interpretive Night
July 19: FOTA, 1800 W Cornelia, Chicago

Join us for an evening of lively discussion and idea exchange as we take a look at each other's art work and comment about what it means to us as individuals. FOTA is launching a series of interpretive nights at our 1800 W Cornelia location.

Unlike the traditional art critique salon, where people might offer a series of "You should have done this instead of that," we are giving artists and patrons the opportunity to comment on each other's works in terms of what it means to them. Artists are encouraged to bring a piece or two of art work, display it on one of our gallery walls, and listen to the comments about what kinds of moods, thoughts, and ideas are evoked by the viewer. The artist is then invited to comment about the reactions to his/her work, or simply enjoy the ideas coming from others. We know you will enjoy this evening of art idea exchange.

For more information or to RSVP, please call us at 773-935-1854

Sculpture, Object, Fine Art
From the serious art collector to the casual connoisseur, this year's SOFA, the international exposition of Sculpture, Objects and Functional Art, offers something for everyone.

SOFA is much more than a HUGE exposition of contemporary decorative and fine art-it is a confluence of ideas, where artists, art professionals and collectors come together for vibrant social and artistic exchange.

Chicago Art Open 2000

From: Matt Maldre <artiwu@spudart.org>

For the summer, artiwu will not be sending email to those with "____@sun.iwu.edu" email accounts. I'm assuming that students are not able to check their accounts during the summer.

If I'm wrong, and you would like to continue recieveing artiwu during the summer to your "____@sun.iwu.edu" account. Then send an email to Matt Maldre at:
artiwu@spudart.org

Artiwu will send out emails to "____@sun.iwu.edu" accounts again starting August 29 (when students arrive back on campus).

People with other email accounts will continue to recieve action-packed artiwu digests during the summer.
